Exclusive to the McWilliam’s Online Cellar is a mixed pack of the celebrated and award-winning range of everyday drinking wines from McWilliam’s, Hanwood Estate. Celebrating the heritage of the McWilliam’s family and its vineyards in the district of Hanwood  including its famous winery, first established in 1917 by second generation winemaker J.J. McWilliam.

In this pack you’ll get one bottle of each of the current vintage Hanwood Estate varietals giving you tastes to match with a diverse range of cuisines or to simply enjoy on its own. It includes:

  • 2017 Hanwood Estate Merlot – lifted perfume of dark forest fruits and with hints of vanilla and cassis. Forward fruit palate of blood plums and black cherry combine with sweet oak flavours. A round fleshy palate with sweet spices and fruit, silky tannins provides a layered flavoursome finish. Alc/Vol: 14%
  • 2015 Hanwood Estate Cabernet Merlot – lifted aromas of plum, forest berry fruits and cassis combined with hints of savoury oak. Soft and generous palate with both red berry spectrum and brooding dark fruit flavours, silky tannins and well balanced oak provides a lingering finish. Alc/Vol: 14%
  • 2017 Hanwood Estate Sauvignon Blanc – hints of fresh snow pea and herbs, combined beautifully with intense passionfruit and citrus flavours. A dry and fresh style showing intense passionfruit and exotic tropical fruit flavours. Lively acidity is balanced well by a light sweetness, providing fantastic weight and length to this exceptionally structured wine. Alc/Vol: 12.5%
  • 2016 Hanwood Estate Cabernet Sauvignon – Rich primary fruit aromas of plum, blackberry and dark cherry with hints of chocolate and dried herb. Background mocha, cinnamon oak is also present. Great fruit power and dense flavours of cassis and blood plums supported by soft tannins creating a wine of both intensity and length. Balanced oak flavours of vanilla and nutmeg add complexity to the palate, which finishes soft, yet powerful. Alc/Vol: 14%
  • 2016 Hanwood Estate Chardonnay – this very varietal nose contains intense peach, nectarine and rock melon. These characters are complemented with tropical notes of guava and rockmelon. Combined with these notes are subtle light biscuit and buttery aromas, with a soft complex texture a result of the malolactic fermentation. Sweet intense peach and citrus flavours are prevalent on this rich palate along with hints of melon, showing lovely texture. The palate is balanced out with some clean acidity, providing length and structure. Subtle hints of oak provides tightness and length, with some creamy, butterscotch notes coming through. Alc/Vol: 13%
  • 2017 Hanwood Estate Shiraz – aromas of blackberry, dark fruits with subtle hints of black pepper and aromatic spices. A balanced wine of black cherry, raspberry flavours complemented by subtle fine tannins and toasty mocha oak providing a palate that lingers. Alc/Vol: 13.5%
