ColourPale gold yellow.
AromaLifted varietal notes of white peach and nectarine. Integrated tropical nuances of guava and rockmelon with light pastry and buttery characters.
PalateIntense peach and citrus flavours are prevalent on the palate providing rich texture. This is balanced with mouthwatering acidity and subtle hints of oak providing length and structure. This wine has a creamy soft lengthy finish.
Growing ConditionsThe 2017 vintage had a wet winter and warm spring, which helped the grapes to produce excellent varietal flavours and vibrant natural acid. During early summer temperatures were optimal for the berries with slower ripening conditions providing no disease pressure and harvest at optimal flavour development.
Vinification/MaturationSelected fruit parcels were harvested in the cool at night at optimum maturity levels to maintain freshness and flavour. The juice was pressed and clarified immediately after crushing. The wine was then fermented to dryness and stirred on yeast lees for a period of three months to build texture and creaminess. A portion of this wine was also fermented on premium French oak staves and allowed to complete full malolactic fermentation to add complexity, weight and subtle oak influence. The wine then received a light fine before being clarified and stored cold to maintain freshness.
