ColourDense purple red with a vibrant purple rim.
AromaShows intense regional expression and purity -fresh blackberry, redcurrant and bay leaf with lovely ripe mulberry notes and a lift of violets. Well seasoned oak aromas of cedar and fresh toast add lovely interest and complexity.
PalateA seamless palate with endless length of flavour ? medium bodied in style typical of Bordeaux blends out of the region but with driving flavour and a vibrant refreshing palate and tight tannin kick critical to our Cabernet driven style.
Growing ConditionsThe 2013 vintage in Margaret River is the seventh consecutive vintage the region has experienced that has been rated excellent to exceptional ?a testament to the suitability of the region to the growing of world class table wines.
Vinification/MaturationThe parcels of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Malbec grown for our Metricup Road Cabernet Merlot are located on vineyard sites in the central and northern parts of the Margaret River winegrowing region. These strategic locations were chosen on their ability to consistently produce a wine with intense colour, ripe fruit flavours and a fine, silken tannin profile with the ability to age.

Still finding its feet but attractive flavours of blackcurrant, chocolate and dried herbs suggest that time will be kind. Classic tannin structure cements the impression.

The perfect illustration of Margaret River cabernet merlot. Stacks of ripe plush blackcurrant fruit with a liberal well-weighted dose of oak. It’s dense and concentrated with ripe firm tannins in support that don't detract from the suppleness of the palate. A pretty serious statement of this style.
