ColourDark crimson with purple hues
AromaRich fruit aromas of plum, blackberry and dark cherry dominate with hints of chocolate and spearmint. Background mocha and cinnamon oak is also present.
PalateDisplaying great fruit density of cassis and blood plums, supported by soft tannins with both intensity and length. The balanced oak flavours of vanilla and nutmeg enhance the palate which finishes soft, yet powerful.
Growing ConditionsThe spring of 2015 was slightly cooler than average but had good rainfalls to freshen up the vines and keep them ticking along nicely. The summer of 2016 was warm but not overly hot and allowed for even ripening across all varieties. This allowed winemakers to pick fruit at it optimum ripeness and flavour level. Low rainfall also meant for low disease pressure. Red varieties from 2016 benefited most from this even ripening and display great varietal expression.
Vinification/MaturationThe grapes were picked at full ripeness and then fermented before being pressed and transferred into French oak barrels which will be allowed to mature for nine months. Once maturation has completed, selected Cabernet batches were blended together to create this wine before being filtered before bottling.

Henry wasn’t born bad and some say he never really was. When the old world became a little too tight for this rebel – he escaped to the haven of the salty seas. Bold and intense – just like Bad Henry, this wine never takes no for an answer and breaks more than a few rules along the way.
