ColourIntense deep red, purple.
AromaSavoury spice, hints of black pepper, mocha and vanilla combine with plums and blueberry aromas.
PalateThe length and strength of flavour carries all the berry fruit, array of black spices and roundness of velvety tannins. The depth of fully ripened Shiraz fruit has allowed this intense wine to be an easy drinking style but with solid tannin substance backed by new American oak.
Growing ConditionsThe 2014 Vintage in the regions this wine was made from had a mild to warm spring leading up to a warm Summer which allowed the grapes to reach excellent varietal characters optimum ripeness in the fruit. Very little rain fell during the ripening season which meant the grapes were disease-free and allowed harvest to happen as desired .
Vinification/MaturationThe grapes were picked and cold soaked for 48 hours whilst being pumped over and plunged to achieve maximum colour but with only low tannins prior to a consistent fermentation until dry. To further allow development of flavour and to soften this bold and intense style, the wine was matured for 12 months in mainly new American oak with a splash of French oak. Prior to being carefully blended, the wine was first rested, then lightly fined and filtered.

Henry wasn’t born bad and some say he never really was. When the old world became a little too tight for this rebel – he escaped to the haven of the salty seas. Smooth, bold and intense – just like Bad Henry, this wine never takes no for an answer and breaks more than a few rules along the way.
